FIFA 2018: Russia beats Saudi Arabia 5-0 at the World Cup opener!


The host, Russian team, at the World Cup 2018 opening match claimed their 3 points by beating Saudi Arabian team 5-0 to take the lead in group A.
Y. Gazinskiy at the 12th minute scored the first goal of the match and of the tournament.

The first substitution was made after D. Cheryshev came in at the 24th minute for the injured A. Dzaragoev, and he (Cheryshev) doubled his side before the half time (43rd minute).

Saudi team made their first substitute in the 64th minute, A. Otayf for F. Al-Muwallad, and Samadov for D. Kuzyayev on the Russian side.

A. Dzyuba made it 3-0 for the Russian team, a minute after he replaced F. Smolov (71st minute). Hattan Bahebri also replaced Yahya Al-Shehin, and Muhannad Assiri for Mohammad Al-Sahlawi at the 85th minute for the Saudi team.

Aleksandr Golovin of Russia received the first booking of the tournament with a Yellow card at the 88th and Taisir Al-Jassim of Saudi at 93rd minute.

D. Cheryshev scored the fourth goal for the team and the first Hatrick of the tournament at the 91st minute while the fifth goal was scored by Aleksaandr Golovin at the 94th minute.

The match ended at the 95th minute.

This is the first match of both teams in group A, Russian tops the table with 3 points while the match between Uruguay and Egypt will determines who comes second and third in the group as Saudi stays at the bottom.
